In anticipation of the live 65th Annual Emmy Award broadcast on CBS this Sunday, BWW will be spotlighting the Emmy nominated TV performances of some of Broadway's biggest stars. Today, we take a look back at Sigourney Weaver's run on USA's POLITICAL ANIMALS!

Legendary screen actress turned Tony nom Sigourney Weaver recently nabbed a 2013 Emmy nomination for her role as tough-as-nails Secretary of State Elaine Barrish on USA's 2012 miniseries POLITICAL ANIMALS, just a few weeks after ending her run Christopher Durang's Tony-winning play VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE. Below, BroadwayWorld honors Weaver with selected clips from the show!

Weaver's other stage credits include Sex and Longing, Hurlyburly and The Constant Wife. Her upcoming film projects include It Is What It Is, Body Art, and Avatar 2. Weaver's past film credits include Vamps, The Cabin in the Woods, Avatar, Infamous, The Village, Holes, Galaxy Quest, Alien, Ghostbusters and more.

USA Network's highly-anticipated series POLITICAL ANIMALS pulled back the curtain on the polished facade of a former first-family as they navigate the complex world of political and personal ambition. From acclaimed producers Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark, the series starred Weaver, Carla Gugino, Ellen Burstyn, Ciarán Hinds,James Wolk, Sebastian Stan and Brittany Ishibashi.
