ELEGANTE...A MOSTLY TRUE STORY Comes to TADA! Theater

Eleganté Productions presents Eleganté...A Mostly True Story, a new play written & directed by James Aronson. The show will begin a limited Off-Broadway run at TADA! Youth Theater (15 West 28th Street, 2nd floor) on September 16th & will run through September 25th. Krystle Henninger* serves as Stage Manager.

Set in 1991, Eleganté...A Mostly True Story, is a cute, quirky play about an Italian Catholic guy from Brooklyn who meets a Long Island Jewish Princess & what happens when they fall in love. If you miss the New York of yore, Eleganté is the play for you.

This was a time of big hair, Z Cavariccis, Good Fellas & neon everything. Brooklyn was still home to hard working, tight knit families & Long Island was the suburban dream. Eleganté...A Mostly True Story, is set in the restaurant Eleganté, owned by Vincent's family. He's is a young guy who isn't quite sure where he's going in life, but wants more than to work in the restaurant. One Mother's Day, Marcy Slotnick, a strong willed, smart & focused young woman, eats at Eleganté & meets Vincent. What follows is a sweet, funny, touching story of two people from different worlds, whose obstacles, including family pressures & cultural differences, draw them into an unlikely love story.

James Aronson (Playwright) is a graduate of the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York City. Over the years, he has appeared in numerous stage productions both in New York & on Long Island, as well as a number of independent films & TV shows. James is an actor, writer & musician & has completed works in several different genres. Along with writing & performing original works as a musician, he has penned 5 children's books & two graphic novels. Elegante'...A Mostly True Story is his first full length play. James considers this work to be the one closest to his heart, since it's the true story of how he & his wife Marcy met.
