Tim Crouch's play, an oak tree, directed by Tim Crouch, Karl James and a smith, will close on January 14, 2007.  It will have run 86 performances at the Barrow Street Theatre.

The show is presented by the Perry Street Theatre, Rosalie Beer, A.J. Epstein, Richard Jordan Productions in association with Barrow Street Theatre. Performances began on October 27, and opened on Saturday, November 4 at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street).

The final guest stars will be: Maryann Plunkett (Friday, Jan. 12 at 9:30), George Demas (Friday, Jan. 12 at 9:30), Christopher Durang (Saturday, Jan. 14 at 9:30), Judith Ivey (Sunday, Jan. 14 at 5), and Jim Dale (Sunday, Jan. 14 at 8).

an oak tree is "the story of two men brought together by loss: a father whose daughter has been killed in a car accident -- and the driver of that car -- a provincial stage hypnotist. For the first time since the accident, these two men meet, when the father volunteers for the hypnotist's act...," press notes describe the show.

"an oak tree is a remarkable new play for two actors. Tim Crouch plays the Hypnotist. The Father, however, is played by a different actor - male or female - at each and every performance. They walk on stage having neither seen nor read a word of the play they're in….until they're in it. This is breath-taking projection of performance, given from one actor to another, from a hypnotist to a subject, from an audience to a person."

The Barrow Street Theatre is located at 27 Barrow Street.  Tickets are $25-$65.
