The Duplex Cabaret Theatre proudly announces plans to continue our acclaimed CINEMA DUPLEX series with special, intimate screenings of two celebrated documentaries, shown in our 70-seat theatre. There is no cover charge for these events, and there is a two-drink minimum. No one under 21 will be admitted, and credit cards are accepted. The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is located at 61 Christopher St., in the heart of New York's West Village. For reservations, please call 212.255.5438.

On Friday January 20 at 7pm, Cinema Duplex will feature The Eyes of Tammy Faye, the celebrated, insightful and often hilarious film, which gives us a glimpse inside the life and times of Tammy Faye Bakker. Special guest Jim Caruso (Cast Party at Birdland) will drop by to chat about Tammy prior to the screening, and about his experiences with her working as a producer on her FOX After Breakfast talk show, The Jim J and Tammy Faye Show. The Eyes of Tammy Faye is directed and produced by Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey, and was released in 2000 to critical acclaim.

Tammy Faye Bakker Messner was born in International Falls, Minnesota, the eldest of eight children. She attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis. Tammy helped build the three largest Christian television networks in the world: CBN (The Christian Broadcasting Network where she worked with Pat Robertson for nine years), TBN (The Trinity Broadcasting Network), and PTL (Praise The Lord). In its last year in existence, six million people visited the Christian theme park, Heritage USA. Tammy has spent over 25 years in television, and has recorded over 25 albums.

"Without my eyelashes, I wouldn't be Tammy Faye. I don't know who I'd be, but it wouldn't be me." - Tammy Faye Bakker Messner

On Monday, January 30 at 8pm, Cinema Duplex proudly presents Broadway: The Golden Age, the acclaimed documentary investigating the history of the Great White Way by those who were there. On hand to discuss the film in a special pre-screening interview and question and answer session will be the driving creative force behind the film, director Rick McKay.

Broadway: The Golden Age is the most important, ambitious and comprehensive film ever made about America's most celebrated indigenous art form. It is award-winning filmmaker Rick McKay's journey over four continents and five years to find out whether there had been a golden age of theatre and why it had never been documented. In their own words - and not a moment too soon - this film tells the stories of our theatrical legends, how they came to New York, and how they created this legendary century in American theatre.

"An essential record of Broadway history that every theatre-goer MUST see - and LONG overdue!" - Jeffrey Lyons, NBC.

Past CINEMA DUPLEX events have included a special screening of Todd Graff's Camp, complete with a live performance from the film's cast and hosted by Seth Rudetsky, The Barbra Streisand Film Festival, Die! Mommie! Die! including a special interview with Charles Busch, and Wallowith and Ross: This Moment.
