Richard Mazda & The Secret Theatre are pleased to announce the return of Duncan Pflaster's THE UNDERPANTS GODOT by popular demand. The limited three performance engagement will take place at the Secret Theatre (44-02 23rd St Long Island City, NYC, NY 11101-5000). Performances are Monday 12, Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 of March at 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale at Secrettheatre.com.
THE UNDERPANTS GODOT is about a director named Doug who is surreptitiously rehearsing for an avant-garde production of Waiting for Godot, with the main characters played by hot dudes in their underpants instead of old men. A representative from the notoriously litigious Samuel Beckett estate crashes a rehearsal to investigate and decide whether the performance should be allowed. The play is a hilarious meta-theatrical piece about the limits of adaptation and interpretation.
The production stars Roberto Alexander, Michael Andrew Daly, Mark Eugene-Garcia [ABC's Into the Woods], Jason Pintar* (Merrily We Roll Along, APAC), Alyssa Simon* (Obie-winning Metropolitan Playhouse, Icebound, NYIT Nomination 2014, Within Arm's Reach), Patrick Walsh* (Live In Theater's The Ryan Case 1873, Drama Desk Nomination for Unique Theatrical Experience; Host of ScreamQueenz: The Podcast Where Horror Gets Bent, Five-time nominee for the New Media Expo People's Choice Award for Best GLBT Podcast; HBO's The Normal Heart).
The production features scenic design by Ashanti Ziths, costume design by Duncan Pflaster and Stage Management by Krystal Wilson and is produced by Richard Mazda.
Tickets are $18 Adv/$20 Door and are now available online Tickets by calling 718-392-0722. Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the Box Office, after 5:30 pm Tuesday-Sunday.
