Founded by artists in the wake of the first D.U.M.B.O. Art Under the Bridge Festival in 1997, DAC was the first non-profit arts organization in Dumbo, Brooklyn. DAC continued to produce the annual multi-site festival from 1998-2009. By attracting thousands of visitors and media attention to the once abandoned manufacturing area, DAC's role has been pivotal in the establishment of Dumbo, Brooklyn as a recognized neighborhood and cultural destination.

DAC Presents:
Closing Party for (The Missing Library) with Mad Libs and Wine!

Join DAC August 11th to celebrate (The Missing Library) and enjoy Michelle Rosenberg's contribution to the exhibition, Median Solve TIme: 11 Minutes.

Median Solve TIme: 11 Minutes is a game (part word puzzle, part scavenger hunt) and the press release is the game card. Rosenberg has taken words from the press release and encoded them into a alphabet of images and objects scattered throughout the exhibition. Can you beat the average time? Come try!

An epic round of MAD LIBS will be played, hosted by Emmy Catedral!

Calling all high school students! This summer DAC brings you the Summer Art Lab, an exciting opportunity to make art and exhibit at the Dumbo Art Festival! This program is a four-week weekend intensive, led by teaching artist Victoria Calabro and kicks off on August 6, 2011. Classes will meet every Saturday in August from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Participating students will develop their skills, practice art making and learn about public and site specific artworks. Students will work creatively together and gain hands on experience in a gallery setting. In addition, the participants interact with professional artists who will visit DAC and conduct lectures and discussions.

All students will be provided materials by DAC, and will produce an artwork under the guidance of our teaching artist. This art work will be exhibited during the Dumbo Arts Festival, a three day public festival to be held September 23rd-25th.

For additional information or to register, please call 718-694-0831 or email gallery@dumboartscenter.org with the subject line: "Art Lab." Advance registration is required.
