OVER & OUT is the next step in the evolution of LGBT programming. Viewers today are attracted to cultures than what might be considered mainstream and hunger for more prolific and diverse programming. With 40 on the horizon, in the heart of NYC, Gail abandons her group of yuppie female stay-at-home mom friends for the vibrant and rowdy gay male community. Building a newfound friendship with Bruce, a recent divorcee from his ex-husband, the two attempt to redefine what it means to be single at an age where many -- gay and straight -- are already steadfastly coupled.
Series creator and writer Drew Larimore (Janice Gunter: Ghost Hunter) has teamed up with producers Allegra Cohen (Putzel), Lauren Rayner (Sugar! starring Alice Ripley), and Stephanie Testa of One Glass Video to launch a crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter for this hilarious new series, in the hope of raising $28,450 to help cover associated production costs. Attached to star as 'Gail' Is Ilana Becker (Girl Code, Orange is the New Black).
"Women and gay men often have an inexplicably connected relationship, but we've yet to see a television show specifically about that bond," says Larimore, "Gail's relationship with Bruce moves past the witty verbal rapport and delves into its complications, elations and as well as impediments."
"I have totally experienced Gail's reality in my life," says Becker, "Gail creates a new identity for herself, continually inserting herself into situations, often awkwardly comical, where she is always and ever more, the one and only female in a crowd of all gay men."
Campaign rewards will range from personalized drink recipes from 'Gail' to walk-on roles with a line in the pilot episode, and even producer credits.
