On Sunday, September 28th at 7:00pm, Dreamlight Theatre Company will present the next installment of "Bright Lights", a concert series dedicated to showcasing the work of emerging composers and lyricists in musical theatre.
The event will feature the talents of a group of "Out-Of-Towners" including Chicago's Brian Mazaferri, and writing team
Alan Schmuckler &
Michael Mahler. From Philadelphia,
Michael Biello & Dan Martin, and from Washington D.C, the work of
Matt Conner.
Performers already set to appear are
Jared Gertner (Broadway's Spelling Bee, Papermill's Little Shop of Horrors),
Jesse Johnson (
Glory Days),
Randy Redd (Parade, Ring of Fire), and
Kathy Voytko (Pirate Queen, The Frogs, Oklahoma). Hosted by the incomparable
Billy Bustamante, it should be a night to remember.
Mazaferri is a Chicago-based singer/songwriter and composer of Green Eyes, which received its premiere in the 2008 New York Fringe Festival.
Michael Mahler &
Alan Schmuckler are the team behind the critically acclaimed musical How Can You Run With a Shell on Your Back. Writing team Biello & Martin have just returned from a workshop of their newest piece, The Cousins Grimm at the
Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center, and
Matt Conner is the composer of Nevermore, which received its world-premiere production in 2006 at the
Signature Theatre.
