The Drama League proudly announces complete details for DirectorFest 2007, the 24th annual presentation of one-act plays staged by the Fall Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project.
DirectorFest 2007 runs from Thursday, December 6 through Sunday, December 9, 2007 at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex in midtown Manhattan (312 West 36th Street). Performances are Thursday, December 6 at 8PM; Friday, December 7 at 8PM; Saturday, December 8 at 2PM & 8PM; and Sunday, December 9 at 3PM.
DirectorFest 2007 offers an exciting glimpse into the future of American theatre by presenting four one-act productions helmed by four of the nation's most talented young directors. This year's lineup includes Don Evans' early 1970s work Sugar Mouth Sam Don't Dance No More, directed by D. Wambui Richardson, and three newer works: Julia Cho's The 100 Most Beautiful Names of Todd, directed by Dan Rigazzi; Sean Graney's Autophagy, directed by Joanie Schultz; and Jordan Harrison's Fit for Feet, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch.

Two off-again, on-again lovers try one last time to rekindle
a romance in Don Evans' early 1970s drama. Drama League Directing Fellow D.
Wambui Richardson received his MFA in Directing from Brooklyn
College and has studied at the New York Film Academy.
His professional directing credits include productions at Coppin Repertory
Theatre of Baltimore, Center Stage Young Playwrights Festival, Center Stage,
St. Louis Black Repertory Theatre and the New Orleans Black Theatre Festival.
The 100 Most Beautiful Names of Todd
In this sweet-spirited work by Julia Cho, a young woman
tries to help her daughter hold on to the memory of her father. Drama League
Directing Fellow Dan Rigazzi received his MFA in Directing from Carnegie Mellon University.
His directing credits include productions at the Carnegie Mellon School of
Drama, The 2003 New York Fringe Festival, The Provincetown Playhouse, the Berkshire
Opera Company and the Light Opera of Oklahoma.

A young woman looking for love gets more than she bargained
for when she meets an android in this new work from playwright Sean Graney.
Drama League Directing Fellow Joanie Schultz received her MFA in Theatre
Directing from Northwestern
University. She has both
directed and assistant directed productions at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company,
the Chicago Opera Theatre, the Steppenwolf Theatre Ensemble Training Program,
and the Circle Theatre.
Fit for Feet
As their wedding day approaches, a young couple finds their
new love is tested when the husband-to-be begins to believe he is Nijinsky in
Jordan Harrison's 2003 drama. Drama League Directing Fellow Gaye Taylor
Upchurch received her BFA in Directing from the North Carolina School of the
Arts, and was awarded the Kennedy Center's 2005 Kenan Fund for the Performing
Arts Residency Fellowship. She has directed productions at the 2007 Summer Play
Festival, LCT's Director's Lab, the Kennedy
Center's American College
Theatre Festival, and was assistant director to Garry Hynes on the recent
Broadway production of Translations.
