Over 20 Broadway stars perform the works of legendary Broadway lyricists Betty Comden and Adolph Green on one stage next Monday, January 31st at the Pierre Hotel from 9:30-11pm. The event is The Drama League's 20th Annual "Musical Celebration of Broadway." This star-filled evening benefits The Drama League Directors Project, which trains the theater directors of the future.
Program includes performances by Lauren Bacall (Applause), Victoria Clark (A Light in the Piazza), Lea Delaria (On the Town, Rocky Horror Show), Nancy Dussault (Do Re Mi), Melissa Errico (Dracula, Amour), Kitty Carlise Hart, Cady Huffman (The Producers), Marc Kudisch (Bells Are Ringing), Donna McKechnie (State Fair, Company), Donna Murphy (Wonderful Town), and Mary Testa (42nd Street) and many more. Some of Comden and Green's credits include Applause, Bells Are Ringing, On The Town, Peter Pan, Singin' in the Rain and Wonderful Town, so you can expect a great show.
The "Musical Celebration of Broadway" is a black tie event and takes place in the Pierre's Grand Ballroom at Fifth Avenue and 61st Street, and always proves to be a delight for theatregoers and musical aficionados.
