Transport Group artistic directors Robyn Hussa and Jack Cummings III have announced that the company will present "An Evening with John Doyle," a one-night only event on Monday, June 5, at 7pm at the Soho Playhouse, 15 Vandam Street (between Varick Street and Sixth Avenue).

"An Evening with John Doyle" will feature Transport Group artistic director Cummings interviewing 2006 Tony nominee John Doyle, director of the current revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Doyle is also director of the upcoming revival of  Sondheim's Company, which is due on Broadway this coming fall. Both of these productions are notable for their use of the cast doubling as orchestra.

In addition to interviewing Doyle, Cummings will also discuss Doyle's work with Manoel Felciano, a Tony nominee for his role in Sweeney Todd; Raul Esparza, who stars as Bobby in Doyle's production of Company; and Mary-Mitchell Campbell, who serves as orchestrator for Company. The evening will conclude with a question and answer period with the audience and four panelists, and will be filmed for the Lincoln Center Theatre on Film and Tape Archives.

Founded in 2001 by artistic directors Robyn Hussa and Cummings III, Transport Group presented its premiere production in 2002: Thornton Wilder's Our Town, which featured older actors in the roles of Emily and George and a twelve-year-old girl as the Stage Manager. In 2004 , Transport Group presented the first New York revival of Michael John LaChiusa's First Lady Suite, which received rave reviews, played to sold-out houses, and earned two Drama Desk Award nominations including outstanding revival of a musical. Last year's productions included the world premiere of the musical The Audience, which featured a cast of 46 actors and earned three Drama Desk Award nominations, including outstanding musical, and Normal, a new musical concerning a mother's battle to save her daughter from anorexia,

Tickets are $30 for general admission and $75 for VIP seating and a private reception with the panelists after the show. Tickets may be purchased at theatermania.com or by phoning (212) 352-3101.
