The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis has announced that British biographer and film producer Douglas Gresham will join Guthrie Director Joe Dowling as this year's Global Voice speaker on Monday, November 10 at 7:30pm on the McGuire Proscenium Stage. Tickets are $15 to $20 and are on sale through the Guthrie Box Office at 612-377-2224, toll-free at 877-44-STAGE and online at www.guthrietheater.org.

Gresham, the stepson of C.S. Lewis, is one of two heirs to the famed novelist's literary legacy, including the Narnia series. Serving as Co-Producer for "The Chronicles of Narnia" movies, he has also made cameo appearances in a few of the films. Part of his childhood plays out in Shadowlands, as his mother, Joy Gresham Davidman, marries C.S. Lewis and later serves as a catalyst in testing the faith of the famed scholar and theologian.

A committed Christian, Gresham now works full time for the C.S. Lewis Company, and devotes his spare time to a variety of Christian work, which includes lecturing and devotional writing. His autobiographical book Lenten Lands was published in 1988, followed by his C.S. Lewis biography for young people entitled Jack's Life in 2005.

Global Voices, the Guthrie's distinguished annual forum, brings world-renowned artists to our theater for dialogue, insight and inspiration. Past Global Voices speakers include Ian McKellen, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Edward Albee, Stephen Sondheim, Anna Deveare Smith and Tom Stoppard.

The Guthrie Theater, founded in 1963, is an American center for theater performance, production, education and professional training. The Guthrie is dedicated to producing the great works of dramatic literature, developing the work of contemporary playwrights and cultivating the next generation of theater artists. Led by Director Joe Dowling since 1995, the Guthrie opened their new three-theater home on the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis in June 2006.

The Guthrie is located at 818 South 2nd Street (at Chicago Avenue), in downtown Minneapolis. To purchase tickets or season subscriptions call the Guthrie Box Office between 10am and 8pm daily at 612-377-2224 or toll-free a 877-44-STAGE.
