Doubt, John Patrick Shanley's intense drama of faith and suspicion, has for the seventh time broken the Walter Kerr Theatre house record, bringing in $550,109 for the week of July
11th-17th. The production
previously set the record at $544,155 for the week of June
13th-19th.
Doubt recently won the Pulitzer Prize for
Drama, as well as the 2005 Tony Award for Best Play. Cherry Jones
received a Tony for Best Actress in a Play, as did Adriane Lenox for
Best Featured Actress in a Play; director Doug Hughes was also honored
with an award. Doubt was also nominated for four other Tonys, and also received the New
York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play of the Year, the Drama
League Award for Distinguished Play, and four Outer Critics Circle
Awards, including Best Play and four Lucille Lortel Awards, including
Best Play.
The performance schedule is Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00 PM, and Sunday at 3:00 PM.
