Donovan, Rabe Host MTC ANNUAL SPRING GALA May 16

Manhattan Theatre Club will present their annual Spring Gala, a special evening highlighting some of Broadway's most exciting shows, on Monday, May 16 at Gotham Hall (1356 Broadway).

MTC's artistic director Lynne Meadow will direct the evening which will be hosted by Tate Donovan (Good People) and Lily Rabe (The American Plan). The gala will feature performances from the hit shows Baby It's You!, Catch Me If You Can, MTC's upcoming production of Master Class, Memphis, Rain, and Wicked.

At this year's gala, MTC is pleased to honor U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management for its longtime support of and commitment to the organization. MTC has been honored to partner with U.S. Trust, Bank of America for over a decade to further MTC's commitment to the development of new playwrights and new work. MTC's current production at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, the Tony Award nominated Best Play, Good People by David Lindsay-Abaire, was commissioned by MTC through the U.S. Trust®, Bank of America New American Play Program.

Through this initiative, MTC has commissioned new work from such playwrights as Liz Flahive, Noah Haidle, Jeff Hatcher, Zoe Kazan, Donald Margulies, Eric Simonson, and Alfred Uhry.

This is in addition to Bank of America's longtime support of MTC's renowned Education Program, which serves more than 4,000 students, teachers, family members, mentors and audience members each year.

MTC Board members Peter A. Bridgman, Joseph H. Gleberman and Peter J. Solomon are co-chairs of the event.

The evening's creative team will include: John Lee Beatty (Set Design), David Weiner (Lighting Design), Brian Ronan (Sound Design), and Jason Michael Webb (Musical Director).

The Spring Gala begins with cocktails at 7 PM followed by dinner at 8 PM with the gala performance beginning at approximately 9:15 PM. All proceeds from this annual event will support MTC's mission as a leading non-profit theatre company producing contemporary plays on and off-Broadway.

Individual tickets for MTC's Spring Gala, including cocktails, dinner and the show are available for $2,500 and $1,500. Tables of ten are also available for $50,000, $25,000, and $15,000.
