New York Mandarin Musical Club presents a special musical, Mandarin version Man of La Mancha, which will be on stage on May 18 and 19 at 7:30pm at Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre at Symphony Space.

With a book by Dale Wasserman, lyrics by Joe Darion, music by Mitch Leigh, and dubbing by He Cheng, Man of La Mancha tells the story of the "mad" knight, Don Quixote, fighting against the reality and "dreaming the impossible dream". NYMMC brings this classic back to New York City, boldly utilizing Mandarin to interpret the chivalrous spirit in a modern context. With a production team of people from various countries and races, Man of La Mancha encourages all communities to become part of the audience group. Also, as a practice of the concept "Theatre for All", Man of La Mancha is a ticket-free musical that welcomes all communities.

Special thanks to Seven Ages Theatre Company for authorizing NYMMC to use Man of La Mancha's Mandarin script. As a Chinese pioneering theatre company, Seven Ages expanded the Mandarin musical market in China with Man of La Mancha. After 400 performances on the opposite side of the globe, this musical is back to the US under the generous support of Seven Ages. Also, Man of La Mancha is presented by arrangement with TAMS-WITMARK (www.tamswitmark.com).
