Dog on Fleas, one of the most musically adventurous bands coming out of the Hudson River Valley's energetic family music scene, performs a rare NYC concert at Symphony Space on Saturday, November 2 at 11 am.

Dog on Fleas has been performing and recording intelligent, gutsy music for kids and adults since 1999. With original, inventive music and a tornado of a live show, the Fleas aim to convert every listener to their brand of loose, energetic music. Watch out for the roving trombone slide, fancy footwork, irresistible rhythms, and the spirited singing of the band and audience members.

Headed up by Grammy-winning producer Dean Jones, Dog on Fleas enjoys national radio rotation and has won awards from the Fids and Kamily poll, Parents' Choice and the National Parenting Publications.

At the concert, the band will debut new songs from their forthcoming 2014 release Buy One, Get One Flea." The new original song "Hinterlands," reflects the wanderlust many kids feel about exploring the big world, and the theme fits perfectly with the wide-ranging arts experiences available to NYC families for the 2013-14 Just Kidding season.

Jones has produced several other family music albums, including award-winning titles by Recess Monkey, ELIZABETH MITCHELL and Joanie Leeds (all performing Just Kidding shows this season). At Jones' Hudson River Valley straw-bale No Parking Studio, the Okee Dokee Brothers also recorded their 2013 GRAMMY award-winning album Can You Canoe?
