Do Not Go Gentle Productions, in collaboration with New York City College of Technology (City Tech) Theatreworks, presents a revival of Dylan, Sidney Michaels' 1964 play focusing on the final years of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas' life.

Directed by Elizabeth Carlson, Dylan performances are April 29 through May 11 at 7:30pm, in a limited engagement at the New York City College of Technology's Voorhees Theatre, located at 186 Jay Street in Downtown Brooklyn.

Ticket prices are $18 for general admission, $12 for students, and free to all City Tech students with ID the day of performance. The theater is accessible from the F train to the York station or the A or C train to High Street. For more information, go to: www.dylantheplay.com.

Written by Sidney Michaels, Dylan is based on Dylan Thomas in America by John Malcolm Brinnin and Leftover Life to Kill by Caitlin Thomas. In the early 1950s, Welsh poet Dylan Thomas embarked on two American-speaking tours, hoping to cement his reputation as the best lyric poet of the 20th century and secure his financial future. Instead, separated from the woman and country he loved and faced with endless temptations, his remarkable genius was cut short.

The cast features Mark Cajigao (Dylan), Connor Carew (Mattock/Jay Henry), Whitney Conkling (Annabelle), Rachel Cornish (Caitlin), Alex Herrald (Brinnin), Iris McQuillan-Grace (Meg), Donaldo Prescod (Stage Manager/Bartender/Doctor), Courtney Reneé Stallings (Elena), and Patrick Williams (Angus).

The creative team includes Norma Lee Chartoff (set design), Chip Scott (lighting design), Lara de Bruijn (costume design), David B. Smith (sound design). Niki Armato is production stage manager and theNEST is Associate Producer.

Dylan opened at Broadway's Schoenfeld (then Plymouth) Theatre on January 18, 1964 starring Alec Guinness and Kate Reid. Guinness won a Tony Award for his leading performance.

Thomas was a deeply passionate, emotional writer remembered for his personal and lyrical style. He is frequently mentioned with T.S. Eliot, Robert Frost and William Butler Yeats as one of the most important poets of the 20th century. He is best known for his poems And Death Shall Have No Dominion and Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, as well as the short story A Child's Christmas in Wales and the radio play, Under Milkwood, which later became a stage play and then a film.

Dylan features an automated set design with state-of-the-art lighting and sound, thanks to the faculty and staff of City Tech's Department of Entertainment Technology. The partnership between Do Not Go Gentle Productions and City Tech's Theatreworks (the College's professional theatrical troupe) will allow what would otherwise be a show too complicated and expensive to produce today. Dylan also offers City Tech students firsthand experience in building and running a fully realized professional play with a multiple-week run.
