Producers Bruce Cohen, Robb Nanus, Jessica Leventhal, Bruce Robert Harris and Jack W. Batman announced today that Disney Theatrical, Jujamcyn Theaters, The Nederlander Organization and The Shubert Organization four of Broadway's leading organizations, have come together by contributing matching donations in support of Tony and Grammy Award nominee Andrew Lippa's new oratorio, I Am Harvey Milk, which will have its New York premiere on Monday, October 6 at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.
Proceeds from this one night only event will be used to create the Harvey Milk Arts Fund at the Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI). The Fund will provide much-needed arts education and resources to students at Harvey Milk High School and other at-risk youth that benefit from HMI's services. Founded in 1979, HMI has grown to become the oldest and largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning and other at-risk youth services organization in the country. Today, HMI serves more than 2,000 youth around the tri-state area each year.
As previously announced, Andrew Lippa will star as Harvey Milk, Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth as the Soprano soloist and child actor Noah Marlowe (Mary Poppins, Act One) will play "Young Harvey Milk." I Am Harvey Milk will feature the Orchestra of St Luke's and introduce the 12o member All Star Broadway Men's Chorus.

Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI) believes that all young people regardless of sexual orientation or identity deserve a safe environment in which to achieve their full potential. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth face pervasive societal stigma and overwhelming challenges. HMI offers these young people a supportive community that fosters positive youth development with pioneering programs that promote physical health and mental well-being, emotional resilience, academic achievement, job readiness, and artistic/cultural creativity. We do this in ways that embody our profound belief in these young people, deep respect for who they are and confidence in their untapped potential. Founded in 1979, HMI is the nation's oldest and largest nonprofit leader in LGBTQ youth service programming. Today, we serve more than 2,000 at-risk youth each year from over from 350 zip codes in New York and New Jersey, and an additional 12,000 young people through outreach efforts - as well as countless lives changed by our advocacy around the world.
