Dirty Little Secrets Improv Show Comes to Niagara Bar

Dirty Little Secrets Improv Show is one of NYC's best kept indie improv secrets. The next show is Tuesday, Jan 22, 2019. 7 PM doors for 7:30 PM show at Niagara Bar (112 Avenue A New York, New York 10009). Tickets are $6 in advance (Eventbrite) or $10 at the door. The show is based on the suggestion of audience secrets, which are collected at the door and shared anonymously.

Stephen Sheffer, producer and performer says: "The show is unique because it's based on secrets that range from light and mundane to dark and deeply personal. We try not to judge the secrets we receive so It's a mixed bag and the show is always a rollercoaster."

Kristin Kirkley, producer and performer says: "We're comedians. We're used to getting on stage and sharing our deepest, darkest secrets in public. Most people don't share their most embarrassing moments with the rest of the world. Being able to share anonymously is cathartic for our audience."

Dirty Little Secrets is now in its third year and is part of NYC's vibrant indie improv scene. The show got its start in 2015 in the back room of a Mexican restaurant on Avenue A. When the bell used in the show started being confused for the kitchen's ding to notify waiters that food was ready, it was time to switch venues. Since then, the show has been going strong in the East Village's historic Niagara. A sister show runs in Vancouver, Canada and has also popped up in Dublin, Ireland. In April 2018 the first ever DLS FEST took place in Vancouver. DLS FEST is a festival created to bring together the international and diverse community that has formed around the show.

The show is committed to showcasing diverse voices within the improv community. This has been one of the show's central values since its inception.
