Diaz, Samonsky and Cruz Star in Tick, Tick...BOOM! in CA, Nov. 17-Dec. 31

The intimate musical will be directed by Scott Schwartz and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli; they will reprise their duties from the original 2001 off-Broadway production. tick...tick..BOOM! features music, lyrics and a book by the late Rent creator, who based the character of Jonathan on himself. Samonsky (national tour of On the Record, "Guiding Light") will portray Jonathan, Diaz (tick, tick...BOOM! off-Broadway, Man of La Mancha) has been cast as his girlfriend Susan, and Cruz (tick, tick...BOOM!, Rent, "My So-Called Life") will play Jonathan's buddy Michael.
The musical opened off-Broadway at the Jane Street Theatre in 2001 with Raul Esparza, Amy Spanger and Jerry Dixon in its cast; it won an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding off-Broadway musical as well as an OBIE Award for Esparza.
The Rubicon production will feature musical direction by Brent Crayon, set and costume design by David Farley and lighting design by Jeremy Pivnick.
