In an exclusive interview with TVGuide.com, Diana DeGarmo and boyfriend Ace Young have revealed that they will be bringing their music to an episode of the CBS daytime drama THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS.

The two former American Idol contestants, who also co-starred in the recent Broadway revival of 'Hair', shared that they will debut "Good Goodbye", a country ballad which they co-wrote, on the March 23rd episode of the CBS soap opera. DeGarmo currently stars on the show as the "self-obsessed mob princess" Angelina Veneziano.

In the interview, the actress revealed that she became romantically involved with Young during their time on the Broadway stage. "It happened when we were both doing Hair on Broadway a couple of years ago, playing boyfriend and girlfriend," said DeGarmo. "We became best friends, which blossomed into a lot more, which is natural for a man and a woman when...When you get naked with your best friend (on stage) it's always interesting. Added the actress, "It was a very easy transition from friends to lovers. After Hair I went on the road with 9 to 5: The Musical for a year and Ace went back to L.A. We wanted to see if our relationship could stand that test, and it did."

DeGarmo explained that the twosome have been collaborating musically for quite some time.  "We've been writing songs for two years — stuff for each other, and for friends and other artists — and now we've tailored this song specifically for my character on Y&R." DeGarmo will perform "Good Goodbye" in character on the show.

Asked if Ace Young has any future plans to join the cast of the CBS drama, DeGarmo replied, "From your lips to the writers' ears! I do believe it's in the air. I hope it happens soon. It would be hilarious. He's an amazing actor. He was so brilliant in Hair. I could gush about him for hours if you'd let me."
