Stunned by the lack of matrimonial jewelry appealing to men, jeweler Dian Malouf has designed an innovative collection of rings for fashionable gentlemen who are headed down the aisle of commitment.
"Women have every jewelry choice in the world, attractive to splendid, but it's hard to find men's rings that are interesting," the designer asserts. "I went to 18 jewelry stores and couldn't find one men's ring with intriguing design. I felt that options available to menbordered on the non-interesting, wearisome and downright boring."
Emblazoned with strong textural motifs including crosses, braiding, zigzags, skulls and interlocking shapes, the rings evoke Malouf's trademark boldness and signature use of oxidized silver contrasted with polished sterling and solid 14-karat gold. Each piece is a hand-carved sculpture created with passion and artistry.
"My mens line reflects those with discriminating taste, seldom found in mens wedding rings none look as though they were engineered by a computer," Malouf says.
Unlike most wedding bands, almost all of the 18 styles in the collection are square in shape. This form is far more comfortable to wear and allows for design interest on all four surfaces plus the shank.Dian's favorites are bold braided bands in avariety of 14-karatgold andsterlingsilver. Diamonds are added upon request.A trio of gold skulls with diamond eyes dubbed "Till Death Do Us Part" is unusual and surprisingly popular.
The rings are available in sterling silver, solid 14-karat gold and combinations of the two precious metals; diamonds may be added upon request. Retail prices span from $185 to $3,200. Like all Dian Malouf jewelry, the men's collection is made in the USA.
