Desta Galley's Spring Exhibition STILL MOTION to Open 4/9

Desta Galley's spring art exhibit will be STILL MOTION, April 9 - June 9, 2015. The artist reception is set for Thursday, April 9 from 6 to 8 p.m.

STILL MOTION will feature artwork that captures life's serene motions, featuring paintings and sculptures from Bay Area artists. The public is invited to a meet and greet artist reception on April 9th. Desta's renowned hand-blended tea infused cocktails, champagne and light appetizers will be served. The public is also invited to have Tea with the Artist on Saturday, April 11th from 2:00pm - 5:00pm. Desta tea and sweets will be served.

The artists:

James Kroner - Painter

James holds a MFA degree from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. He has received numerous awards including first place for landscape painting at the 2010 Annual Spring Show and received a full scholarship to study in Italy for the summer of 2011. His work has been shown in several galleries and has caught the attention of collectors and enthusiasts.

Debra Maddox - Painter

Debra received a Bachelor's degree in Art Education and completed post graduate work in painting at the San Francisco Art Institute. Her body of work examines several themes - water, cycling, and figures in motion Debra's paintings and images have been selected by jury for the past eight consecutive years to be included in the annual publications, "Art of Northern California" and the "Art of Seeing" by Alcove Books. Her work is in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Canada.

Sandy Frank - Sculpturist

Sandy has been working with clay for over 20 years. She first learned the art while living for a time on the Caribbean island of Grenada where she worked with local artisans and learned from them. Her evocative figural clay sculptures capture not only the external physical manifestation and traits of what she is depicting, but they also capture the internal, spiritual and psychological physiognomies of her subject.
