Deerfield Veterinary Hospital has acknowledged that Dr. Ned Caldwell and Dr. Denise Roche recently received awards for their volunteer efforts with charities in the Springfield, Mo. area. Founding partners at Deerfield Veterinary Hospital, the duo has long been heavily involved with community building and voluntarism for non-profit organizations. Earlier this summer, the Junior League of Springfield, Mo. presented Dr. Roche the "Cheri Clark Bouquet of Enthusiasm Award" for her dedication, volunteer work and cheerful spirit. Soon after, the Rotary Club of Springfield Southeast recognized Dr. Caldwell with the "Lend A Hand Award" for his day-to-day commitment and exemplary service through impactful committees.

As a socially responsible animal hospital in Springfield, Mo., Deerfield Veterinary Hospital is committed to civic service in the local community. "When we first opened in 1992," Caldwell said, "Denise and I knew Springfield would always be home. Through honest service and innovative, compassionate veterinary care, we've earned the loyalty of many Springfield families and established a thriving practice. This city has been fantastic to us, and Denise and I believe it's simply right to give back to our neighbors in the area. It's quite an honor to be recognized for pitching in, and we hope talking about our outreach efforts encourages others to get involved and help make a difference."

Deerfield Veterinary Hospital's Medical Care

Deerfield Veterinary Hospital has provided leading-edge veterinary care in Springfield, Mo. for 22 years. From administering feline or puppy booster shots to senior pet screenings to routine surgical procedures, the Deerfield Veterinary Hospital staff is dedicated to offering loving service and expert medical care.

The hospital is fully furnished with sophisticated surgical, veterinary dentistry and lab equipment, and Drs. Caldwell and Roche-along with Dr. Laura Hilton and Dr. Craig Bendickson-are prepared to handle many medical procedures on site. Asked why they choose to maintain a full-service animal hospital, Roche pointed to crucial benefits: "Offering the latest techniques for on-site lab diagnostics, blood testing and routine surgeries lets us expedite any necessary treatment to help reduce the risk of complications as well as the stress both pets and owners face."

Deerfield Veterinary Hospital's Outreach Program

Since joining their respective charities, Caldwell and Roche have been proud to help make a difference in the lives of Springfield residents. Their efforts are part of Deerfield Veterinary Hospital's outreach program, established to encourage staff members and patients' families to volunteer with local charities of the their own choosing.

Roche joined the Junior League in 2005, because it is "committed to promoting voluntarism and developing the potential of women" while preventing "child abuse and neglect in southwest Missouri," as noted on the organization's website. She has worked directly with the Charity Horse Show, Public Affairs and Ruby Payne committees. She also helped chair the Kids Count committee, coordinating volunteers to work with Isabel's House-the Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks.

Caldwell, who joined the Rotary Club in 2010 due to its dedication to leadership in both the workplace and the community, began with the Don't Meth with Us program, which educates local fifth graders and seventh graders on the dangers of methamphetamine use. Since 2013, he has spent much of his time as a member of the Rotary Club's Rock'n Ribs Management Team. The Rock n' Ribs fundraiser benefits seven different children's charities in the Ozarks.

Caldwell, Roche and the entire Deerfield Veterinary Hospital staff are committed to the outreach program and plan to continue volunteering in the Springfield community.
