As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider is currently working on a theatre-themed album titled 'Dee Does Broadway.' The first single is set to arrive in early April with the full album release set for May 8, 2012.
Snider told Goldmine Mag: "I'm taking Broadway show tunes and I'm making them rock," he said. "It's sort of a Twisted Christmas taken to Broadway. But there are some pretty metallic moments there, I'll tell you. Sweeney Todd translates into a metal song amazingly - bass, drums, guitar - so some of the songs are really metallic, but it's a rock record. I'm doing it as a solo artist. I'm working on that."
The full track list is as follows:
1. Cabaret
2. The Ballad Of Sweeney Todd
3. Big Spender (with Cyndi Lauper)
4. Mack the Knife
5. Whatever Lola Wants (with Bebe Neuwirth)
6. Music Of The Night (with guest violinist Mark Wood)
7. The Joint Is Jumpin’ (with Jesse Blaze Snider)
8. Luck Be A Lady (with Clay Aiken)
9. I Get A Kick Out Of You
10. There Is Nothin’ Like A Dame (with the stars of “Priscilla Queen of the Desert: Will Swenson, Tony Sheldon and Nick Adams)
11. Razzle Dazzle
12. Tonight/Somewhere (with Patti LuPone)
Snider, whose music is featured in the hit Broadway show ROCK OF AGES (‘I Wanna Rock' and ‘We're Not Gonna Take It'), previously played the character of "Dennis" for an 11 week run before the show went dark last fall before its move to the Helen Hayes Theatre.
