Fresh from her recent turn in Götterdämmerung at the Metropolitan Opera Deborah Voigt crosses the Atlantic to sing the Ring's climactic "Immolation Scene" in concert with the Hamburg Symphony (Feb 18-19). Voigt again takes center stage in New York whenthe Ring tetralogy returns to the Met (April 7-May 12) for three complete cycles. Voigt's Brünnhilde was transmitted worldwide in February when Götterdämmerung was featured in the ever-popular Met Live in HD series, and the singer will return as host of that series on April 14, when La Traviata is beamed to cinemas internationally.
Following the reprise of the Met's Ring, Voigt will join the Montreal Symphony Orchestra for a concert of arias byBeethoven, Wagner and Strauss (May 22-23), and she will appear with the Minnesota Orchestra to sing more signature repertoire – the "Dance of the Seven Veils" and final scene from Strauss's Salome (June 7-10).
