A Night in the Kremlin, a new historical, political, and musical satire, will get its world premiere in the 10th Annual Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival, running July 13th to August 2nd at the June Havoc Theatre in the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex. Internationally renowned director Cosmin Chivu (Lincoln Center Theatre Director's Lab) is serving as director for the production.
With a book by Bernard Besserglik and music and lyrics by Bob Barton, A Night in the Kremlin invites the audience to join
Harpo Marx (played by Jeff Essex) as he arrives in Moscow in November of 1933 as a good will ambassador. While in Moscow, Harpo rides to the rescue of a pair of star-crossed lovers after his interpreter's fiancé is wrongfully accused of sabotage. His intervention leads to to a confrontation with a grieving Joseph Stalin and a riotous chase through the Kremlin. Songs, gags, thrills and spills, A Night in the Kremlin is a political parable told in the manner of a classic Marx Brothers movie.

Maria Deasy, David Douglas, Lawrence Frank, Marc Garber,
Angus Hepburn, Geoffrey D. Hill,
Brandt Johnson, Briana Layon, Daniel Popa, Oksana Shestakova, Peter Tedeschi, and D. Zhonzinsky.
