Diana DeGarmo and Haylie Duff, who respectively star as Penny Pingleton and Amber Von Tussle in the Broadway cast of Hairspray, will serve as guest judges for a new dance contest--the winner of which will get to dance on Broadway in the hit musical comedy.

"Now YOU can win a chance to be onstage when the '60s come to life in Broadway's super-smash Hairspray. This musical blockbuster invites you to show us your moves and join the fun for one special night," states the website of the "Big Bopper Dance Topper" dance contest, which will be presented by Ladies' Home Journal.

"Think you've got the stuff to join Broadway's biggest song-and-dance party? Tease up that hair, polish up those saddle shoes, fire up the videocam and get bopping to the Hairspray tune of your choice! We'll post the Top 10 videos online, and America will vote for their three faves. Then a special Hairspray panel of judges—including stars Diana DeGarmo and Haylie Duff—will narrow it down to the Top 3—and America will vote again.

The winner will be flown to New York (with hotel accommodations), work with Hairspray's dance captain, and dance on Broadway for one magical night!"

Submissions will be accepted from September 22nd through October 11th. The top 10 winners will be selected on October 18th, with voting lasting through November 15th. The top 3 winners will be announced, with comments by Hairspray panel of judges, on December 15th; the final winner will be announced on December 20th.

Hairspray tells of overweight teenager Tracy Turnblad's rise to love, happiness and stardom on a 60's dance show, which she helps to racially integrate. The Broadway show was itself based on John Waters' 1988 film. It opened in August of 2002 at the Neil Simon Theatre and garnered 8 Tonys, including Best Musical, Best Original Score for Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, Best Book of a Musical for Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, Best Direction of a Musical for Jack O'Brien, Best Actor in a Musical for Harvey Fierstein and Best Actress in a Musical for Marissa Jaret Winokur.

The upcoming feature film--starring John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Michelle Pfeiffer, Amanda Bynes, Christopher Walken and more--will be released in July of 2007.
