The Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director) is pleased to announce that David Singer has joined the staff as Executive Director.  David joins The Culture Project as it launches into its Fall season with the openings of Steve Earle¹s KARLA and Jack Holmes¹ RFK, directed by Larry Moss (The Syringa Tree).

Prior to joining the Culture Project as Executive Director, Mr. Singer was a Senior Vice President and Executive Producer at Radio City Music Hall, where he produced its "Stage Door Tour" and was co-producer of its touring show, "The Great Radio City Music Hall Spectacular."  Mr. Singer is an independent producer of both theater and film. His most recent theater production is Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom¹s adaptation of Tuesdays with Morrie, directed by David Esbjornson, which ran Off-Broadway and is about to embark on a national tour starring Hal Linden.  He worked with Steppenwolf Theater Company for almost a decade, representing the company and serving as its co-producer on Orphans and Balm in Gilead.  He produced John Curry's "Ice Dancing on Broadway."

Mr. Singer was a practicing attorney, initially at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton and then in the entertainment field.  He was Executive Producer of the Academy Award-nominated documentary film, "Suzanne Farrell: Elusive Muse."  He served as a screenwriter on "Gods on Fire," a feature film about Balanchine and Stravinsky at the Ballet Russes, and has also written a one-man play entitled, Diaghilev.

"David's successes while at Steppenwolf and Radio City, in addition to his experience with national tours, independent films and off-Broadway productions will contribute to The Culture Project¹s ongoing growth as the preeminent producer of political theater," says Allan Buchman, Artistic Director.  He goes on to say, "After an extensive search we are pleased to have found the perfect fit with David."

The Culture Project is one of New York¹s most prominent and award winning off-Broadway theater companies with an abiding commitment to presenting dramatic works that explore today¹s defining social and political issues. It has produced such groundbreaking productions as The Exonerated, Guantanamo: Honor Bound to Defend Freedom and the smash hit Sarah Jones¹ BRIDGE & TUNNEL, which Meryl Streep co-produced.
