David Hyde Pierce, James Keach, Jane Seymour, Victor Garber, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jonathan Groff, Michael Tucker, Jill Eikenberry, John Glover, Zachary Quinto, and John Hickey are among the stars joining members of New York City's philanthropic, business, health care and Alzheimer's communities who will join forces at the annual "Forget-Me-Not" Gala, An Evening to End Alzheimer's hosted by the Alzheimer's Association, New York City Chapter tonight, June 4, 2012 at The Pierre.
David Hyde Pierce, 2007 Tony Award winner, will receive the Chapter's Lifetime Leadership Award for his work as a tireless advocate in the Alzheimer's community and with the New York City Chapter. He serves on the Board of the National Alzheimer's Association and as a national spokesperson. His father and grandfather died from the disease.
Director, producer, actor James Keach and actress, artist, philanthropist Jane Seymour will receive the Chapter's Public Awareness Leadership Award for their work on the documentary with the Working Title "Documentary on Glen Campbell's Goodbye Tour." An exclusive clip for the Gala of the documentary about Campbell, who has Alzheimer's disease, will be shown that evening.
The Chapter's first Board Leadership Award will be given to Neil Botwinoff for his immeasurable contributions to the Chapter over the past six years.
Renowned star of stage and screen Victor Garber will emcee the event. An ardent supporter of the Chapter, he lost both parents to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
Actor Jonathan Groff of Spring Awakening and Glee, who also has a personal connection to the disease, will perform. Also in attendance will be actress and producer Sarah Jessica Parker; authors and actors Michael Tucker and Jill Eikenberry; John Glover, who is currently in Broadway's Death of a Salesman; actor Zachary Quinto; and actor John Hickey.
The evening, which will offer a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, and dinner and dancing to Valerie Romanoff's Starlight Orchestra, is expected to raise $1.25 million.
The gala will be chaired by Jonathan B. Teplitz, Chief Operating Officer, Global Information Technology, JPMorgan Chase.
