Darren Criss - With Help from the Sorting Hat - Enrolls Broadway at Hogwarts

Elsie Fest, New York City's first outdoor music festival celebrating tunes from the stage and screen, is set to launch on Sunday, September 27 (2-9PM) at JBL Live at Pier 97 (57th St and WestSide Highway in New York City). Performers will include Aaron Tveit, Darren Criss, Lea Salonga, Laura Osnes, Seth Rudetsky, Leslie Odom, Jr., and StarKid.

To promote the event and show solidarity with StarKid -- which propelled him to fame in A VERY POTTER MUSICAL -- Criss stopped by Buzzfeed to sort Broadway characters into Hogwarts houses.

His verdict on the big ones:

WICKED's Elphaba - Slytherin: "...she's green, and even though she's not actually evil, she's kind of a go-getter with a strong personality. I would say Slytherin, because Slytherin is not necessarily evil."

BOOK OF MORMON's Elder Cunningham - Hufflepuff: "Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but by golly you mean well."

HAMILTON's Alexander Hamilton - Gryffindor: "I feel like the hat would try to put him in Ravenclaw because he's wicked smart and on top of his shit, but I think the dreamer and idealist in him would sway him to Gryffindor."

FROZEN's Elsa - Ravenclaw: "Something about her says Ravenclaw to me. I guess it's because she's the older sister type? I don't know why I'm associating that with it. Wait... (looks up at hat), the hat told me Ravenclaw."
