Could Blaine be prepping to permanently reunite with Kurt on the fifth season of GLEE?

Before taking the stage at The House of Blues in Hollywood this week, Darren Criss opened up about what the upcoming season may have in store for the former Warbler, according to Perez Hilton.

"[Blaine] seems to want to go to New York," Criss said. "I'd be cool with that. I'd always rather be in New York!"

So where does Criss, who's just launched his LISTEN UP tour, think the musical dramedy will go when it comes back in the fall?

"We ended it in the middle of the year. So I would presume when we pick up season four, the year will go on and we will graduate," Criss said. "But who knows? Maybe we'll be stuck in senior year forever! They can do whatever they want."

Fox execs have proven that to be true, having recently picked up the Ryan Murphy series for two more seasons.

In a recent conference call with reporters this morning which included the announcement of FOX's 2013-2014 programming schedule, Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Entertainment, FOX also spoke about the show's upcoming fifth season.

According to Reilly, GLEE will air a handful of episodes in the fall fall before taking a hiatus until the spring. "We're going to come out with a fall season of GLEE, put it on hiatus for a little bit, give [the new series] RAKE a tryout," he explained. "Then GLEE will be back in the spring, relaunching with I think a creative twist in terms of where we're going with the creative evolving. And then that will play right into the summer as it's done once before."

Reilly explained that this season's pattern of airing a new episode followed by a series of reruns was very frustrating for GLEE fans and created "too much bookkeeping" for the show's core audience.

In addition it was revealed that the new season will continue with graduation, as well as more New York City "adventures" featuring the characters portrayed by Lea Michele and Chris Colfer. There will also be "inter-mini" story arcs including a host of guest stars to be announced at a later date.

As of now, a premiere date for the fifth season has yet to be announced.
