Broadway headliner and GLEE standout Darren Criss speaks out for those affected by the recent typhoon in the Philippines in a new social media video posted to raise awareness for the tragic situation and various charities targeting the natural disaster, spearheading his own donation initiative in the process.
After outlining the main details of the disaster and relating the recovery plan currently underway in the Philippines, Criss shares how those of us around the world can each individually help the country get back on its feet in our own way.
"In an effort to raise money for those in need in the Philippines... for everyone that donates $25 to the world food program, I will print and mail you a postcard with your name on it alongside every other person that joins in this effort and I will sign every single one of them," Criss valiantly promises.
Furthermore, Criss shares some of his own background and how it pertains to the crisis, relating, "As some of you may know, the Philippines is where a large majority of my family is from - my mother was born and raised there, and, as a result, I have always been proud of my Filipino heritage, as well as lucky enough to feel the tremendous support of the Filipino community throughout my life as an artist."
Concluding, Criss shares, "People are in need now, so please donate and send us your info by Monday, November 18."
