BeaconNY Productions is presenting the World-Premiere of Matthew Schneck's (12 Lb. Discourse, Attic) new dark comedy, Badge, at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place). Previews begin June 15th, with an official press opening of June 18th. Jenn Thompson (Dinner With Friends, The Heiress at CT's River Rep Theatre Co.) directs.

A 2006 semi-finalist for the National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Conference, Badge is described in press materials: "Boy Scouts is the only refuge that keeps 28 year-old Roy (played by Greg McFadden, seen last season on Broadway in The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial opposite David Schwimmer) and his life together. It keeps it sane, and most importantly, keeps it the same. That is, until his Scout Master's uninhibited sister walks into his life, making him do very "unScoutlike" things. In this wild ride, things may finally change for Roy…maybe it's not a great time to go off the meds."

Starring alongside McFadden are Glynis Bell (Broadway's 1999 revival of Amadeus, Off-Broadway's Jewtopia) Tara Falk (Broadway's The Constant Wife, Tony-Nominated Best Play Metamorphoses) and Darrell James. The show's creative team includes Brian Prather (Set Design); Bryan Keller (Lighting Design); and Stephen Kunken (Sound Design).

Badge runs June 15th—July 1st, with performances Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm (Tuesday will be Dark) at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place). Tickets are $18 and can be reserved by calling 212-868-4444 or on-line at www.smarttix.com. For additional information, visit www.beaconproductions.org.
