Darius de Haas, Kecia Lewis-Evans, Vaneese Thomas Set for 'Too Hot to Handel,' 11/14

"Too Hot to Handel: The Gospel Messiah" will play the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage on Sunday, November 14 at 4 PM. Marin Alsop is the musical director and conductor. Leslie Stifelman is the music supervisor.

A mass choir of New York City students joins Marin Alsop and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in Too Hot to Handel. This full-length work has thrilled audiences across the country with its blend of the timeless brilliance of Handel's Messiah with an invigorating infusion of jazz, gospel, rock, and R&B.

The program includes the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, soprano Kecia Lewis-Evans, Mezzo-Soprano Vaneese Thomas, Tenor Darius de Haas, and choirs from Bayside High School, Edward R. Murrow High School, Fordham High School for the Arts, Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, Songs of Solomon, and the Urban Assembly School for the Performing Arts.
