The new World War II era romantic musical Love and War announces their 29 hour reading, which will be directed by Daniel Goldstein (Godspell), with book by J. Todd Allan, music by Peter B. Allen, and lyrics by Peter B. Allen, Mathayu Warren-Lane, and J. Todd Allan. Ken Davenport will serve as Executive Producer. The reading will be held at Stage 1 at Roy Arias Theatres (777 8th Ave. between 47th & 48th St.) on Thursday, November 3rd at 2pm and Friday, November 4th at 11am.

The story of Love and War follows WWII bombardier Danny Gersh after he returns to New York City a casualty of love and war. Before the war he was a Broadway star, but now he's holed-up in a roof-top studio failing to write a musical about "The Bombshell" - the gorgeous girl riding a bomb in a translucent negligee that he painted on his B17. Behind the story of "The Bombshell" is Danny's love affair with Sophie, the USO singer who is "The Bombshell", and his love for Rose, "the girl back home" who wasn't allowed to be "The Bombshell" because she's "colored". Both women are still in love with Danny and trying to help him rebuild his life, but Sophie has married Danny's best friend, Timothy, who was his Squadron Commander, and they are underwriting Danny's musical. Resisting the temptation to fall back into an affair with Sophie and realizing Rose must forever be a part of his life ultimately lead to Danny's comeback.
