Dana Ivey, Rebecca Brooksher, et al. Set for SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER Benefit, 2/13

The Acting Company will present a benefit staged reading of Tennessee Williams' Suddenly Last Summer at 7 pm on Monday, February 13 at the Mainstage Theater (Playwrights Horizons). The performance, starring Dana Ivey (The Help, Importance of Being Earnest), Rebecca Brooksher (The Good Wife), Betsy Aidem (Dreams of Flying Dreams of Falling), Chad Hoeppner (Come Back Little Sheba, Butley) Neal Huff (When I Come to Die, The Little Dog Laughed) and Pamela Nyberg (Doubt tour) will be followed by a reception with the cast and director, Jodie Markell (The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond). Ms. Ivey serves on the Board of The Acting Company; Chad Hoeppner and Pamela Nyberg are both Acting Company Alumni Members. Tickets @ $35 are available from 212-258-3111.

"Suddenly Last Summer is Tennessee Williams' ground-breaking and fascinating play centered on a terrible secret surrounding a troubled young man's death, which occurred during a vacation trip. What actually did happen that summer? The answer to that question, a classic American play and some terrific acting are in store for our audience," said Margot Harley, Producing Artistic Director of The Acting Company.

The Acting Company just began its 39th national tour at the Guthrie Theater and will play New York's Baruch Performing Arts Center in April presenting Julius Caesar, a new production directed by Rob Melrose of San Francisco's Cutting Ball Theater, and The Comedy of Errors, directed by Ian Belknap. Founded by John Houseman and Margot Harley in 1972, The Acting Company has toured to 49 states and 10 foreign countries earning a TONY for Excellence in Theater, Obies, Audelcos and Los Angeles Critics Circle Awards. Kevin Kline, Rainn Wilson, Patti LuPone, Frances Conroy, Jeffrey Wright Harriet Harris, David Ogden Stiers, Keith David and Jesse L. Martin are but a handful of performers who began their careers on tour with The Acting Company.
