Fox 4 News in Dallas has reported that accomplished movie actor and community theater founder Matthew Posey is in recovery after being shot multiple times outside a Deep Ellum bar late Monday evening.

According to witnesses, Posey left the Cold Beer Company around 10 p.m. Monday and was met face-to-face with the suspect in the back of the parking lot near his pickup. No words were exchanged before multiple shots were fired by the suspect, who immediately jumped back into his car and took off afters shooting Posey in the cheek and thigh.

Police are currently unsure of the motive since no words were exchanged, but are looking into the possibility of gang-related violence. Security cameras outside of Cold Beer did not capture the attack.

Posey is the founder of Ochre House Theater in Deep Ellum, and holds acting credits in THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, and MR. BROOKS.
