The Acting Company will present a staged reading of The Voysey Inheritance, Harvey Granville-Barker's classic work on fraud and intrigue (think Bernie Madoff!) at 7 pm on Monday, April 7th at the Mainstage Theater at Playwright's Horizons, 416 West 42nd Street (9th-10th Avenues).

The performance-starring Acting Company Alums Dakin Matthews (Rocky, The Best Man), Fred Arsenault (Royal Family, Born Yesterday), David Manis (War Horse, Coast of Utopia), Spencer Aste (Nothing on Earth Can Hold Houdini), Andrew Weems (Born Yesterday, Inherit the Wind) and Broadway regulars Diane Kagan, Gretchen Hall, Trent Dawson, Juliet Brett, T.J. Edwards and Diana LaMar-will be followed by a reception with the cast and director, longtime CenterStage Artistic Director Irene Lewis.

"We are fortunate to have Irene Lewis directing; audiences still remember her wonderful production last year of Stage Door. Now she turns her attention to Harley Granville-Barker's highly principled family whose world turns upside down when they discover their father's business has been defrauding clients for years," said Margot Harley, Producer of The Acting Company. "Granville-Barker was one of the most versatile figures in twentieth century theater as an actor, playwright and director. His last career as a critic opened new interpretations of Shakespeare and led to the establishment of a national theater in England."

Founded by John Houseman and Margot Harley with Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, David Schramm and David Ogden Stiers in 1972, The Acting Company has toured 138 productions to 49 states and 10 foreign countries earning a TONY for Excellence in Theater, Obies, Audelcos and Los Angeles Critics Circle Awards.
