After Nicole and Derek took the top of the leader board yet again last night on Dancing with the Stars, who would be the next to go?

The first couple to breathe easier was Erin and Maks when they found out that they were safe. Next, there was the first of what I'm guessing will be many re-caps of the previous night. Is it me or did it last even longer than usual tonight?

The judges then chose Chad and Cheryl for the encore dance and I think I liked it better the second time around, maybe because they had less stress and pressure. Tom Bergeron agreed with me!

Academy Award winner and two-time Grammy winner Melissa Etheridge performed the title track from her upcoming album "Fearless Love." Etheridge is such a rock-star, and her voice is so unique and strong. Listening to her sing made me want to belt out "I'm the Only One."

And then yet another re-cap, letting us know that Jake and Chelsie were at the bottom of the pack and that Nicole and Derek were at the top of the scoreboard.

It was then time for Chad and Cheryl to find out they were safe, and he scooped her off her feet to celebrate.

The Emmy Award-winning guitarist Benise then performed "Salsa Salsa" along with his dancers. Some of the dancers made themselves at home on the judge's table, and Benise's guitar playing was very catchy and fun. It was at this time that I realized that Carrie Ann was wearing a weird hat.

Sports Science's John Brenkus then hooked Dmitry and Edyta up to some contraptions and tried to teach a bunch of scientific things about dancing. No thanks, I'd rather just enjoy it! Some of the facts were pretty crazy though, and really made me appreciate just how talented these dancers are.

Melissa Etheridge returned to the stage to sing "Come to My Window" which made me happy, because you have to love the classics. During the performance, I realized just how defined Edyta's calf muscles are!

The next couple to find out they were safe were Nicole and Derek, while Jake and Chelsie were uselessly told they had to wait until later to find out their fate.

Now halfway through the competition, the dancers are all excited, but nervous. I know this from their interviews. They all seemed really intense, and let it be known that they're there to win, but the interviews were really over the top and dramatic.

The next safe couple was Pamela and Damian. I don't know who I want to go home! I like all of the teams that are still "in jeopardy."

We were then subjected to another re-cap of the remaining teams' routines. If Evan is booted tonight, I'm going on strike!

Jake and Chelsie were then told they would be joining Niecy and Louis in the bottom two. Yay Evan is safe!

The team to leave this week was Jake and Chelsie. NOOO! I loved Jake, and he never had a chance to dance to "On the Wings of Love!" He was starting to improve too! He was so cute when he got choked up talking to Chelsie! I'm definitely sad to see him go.

All 7 teams showcase their fancy footwork on Mondays, at 8:00-10:00 PM. The couple with the lowest combined judges' scores and public votes for both performances will be sent home.

Viewers may cast their votes for their favorite teams via phone on Monday night during and up to 30 minutes after the "Dancing with the Stars" performance shows. AT&T customers may also text message their votes by texting the word "VOTE" and entering the number that corresponds to the team they want to support (message and data rates may apply). Viewers may also vote online at www.abc.com starting from the opening of each episode on the East Coast and until 12:00 Noon, ET the following day.

Hosted by Tom Bergeron ("America's Funniest Home Videos"), the celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which will be judged by renowned Ballroom judge Len Goodman and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba, who all return for their tenth season together.
