DUO: A MUSICAL to Premiere at NY SummerFest Theater Festival

Summerfest Theater Festival presents Duo: A Musical, written and directed by Elias Rubin in his second musical piece to be presented in New York.

Duo: A Musical is a coming of age tale. Aaron Thompson is the star of the football team, gets good grades, and should be content- so why does he wake up with questions every morning? And that new kid, James... why does he create such a spark inside Aaron? Duo: a Musical combines pop and rock music to create an electrifying score, filled with musical numbers that both soar above the skies, and stay grounded.

Duo is the second piece Elias Rubin has debuted after his successful first run of The Edge of the Universe: A Magic School Bus Musical Parody at The People's Improv Theater. Rubin is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where he developed The Edge of the Universe: A Magic School Bus Musical Parody, and musically directed The Trouble With Us, created by Duo's producer, KaiLeigh Allen.

The cast of Duo includes, Ryan Hudzik, Justin Chiao, Joshua Leger, Karen Kitchell, Nick Mangione, and Jessie O'Brian. The creative team includes, Elias Rubin (Creator, Writer, Dir.), Matty Mahoski (Musical Dir.), KaiLeigh Allen (producer), Niamh Lissie (sound design), Helena Anderson (Choreography) and Megan Tomei (SM). All are New York based artists.

Duo opens at the Hudson Guild Theater on September 5th, 2017 at 6:15pm. The second performance is September 9th, 2017 at 8:30pm and Duo closes at The Hudson Guild Theater on September 10th, 2017 at 1:00pm.
