Rooftop Films teams up with SXSW Film Festival to present a week of New York premieres. The films being screened as a part of Rooftop Films Summer Series 2013 SXSW Week are Joe Swanberg's Drinking Buddies in Fort Greene, Lotfy Nathan's dirt-bike documentary The 12 O'Clock Boys in Williamsburg, Todd Sklar's comedic tour de force Awful Nice in Sunset Park and Petra Costa's poetic documentary Elena in Gowanus. All filmmakers will be in attendance at each screening.

Tonight, August 6th, Rooftop Films will be co-presenting Joe Swanberg's Drinking Buddies-which also had its world premiere at SXSW--outdoors at BAMcinematek. On Thursday, August 8, follow the life of thirteen-year-old Pug as he tries to become part of a notorious Baltimore dirt bike gang in 12 O'Clock Boys. Branson, Missouri comes to Brooklyn for the New York premiere of Awful Nice on Friday, August 9 in Sunset Park. The Oakwood Boys take over as emcees for the evening and the filmmakers will outfit the entire screening with Branson-related props courtesy of Film Biz Recycling. Rounding out the weekend, the intimate experimental documentary Elena makes its New York debut on Saturday, August 10. Petra Costa follows the traces of her long lost sister all the way to New York.

Thirteen-year-old Pug wants nothing more than to join the 12 O'Clock Boys, the notorious Baltimore dirt bike pack, in this exciting and unusual tale about coming of age in urban America. Film is being distributed by Oscilloscope Laboratories.

Based on the short '92 Skybox Alonzo Mourning Rookie Card that played in last year's Summer Series, Awful Nice follows two brothers who inherit their family lake home to fix up and sell. They are sent careening from one hilarious misadventure to the next in this comic tour de force.
