Going into the second results show of the season, the verdict wasn't in the points. From the previous night's episode, in which competitors and their professional partners constructed a routine hinged around a personal experience, two things were clear: Katherine Jenkins and William Levy had managed to secure themselves at the top of the competition, their dances yielding the first 10s of the season, and the rest fell into a big 'ol rumba-samba-jivey lump in the middle with 24s and 25s. With performances by Seal and Rascal Flatts, it was anybody's guess as to who would depart the DANCING competition, and forfeit the trophy to another celeb.
The first group up for potential elimination included Gavin DeGraw, Maria Menounos, Roshon Fegan, and front-runner Katherine Jenkins. The women were saved first - with DeGraw, once again, spearheading contestants up for elimination.
Next, William Levy, Gladys Knight, and Jaleel White - with Levy announced as safe. Knight, whose lacklusture tribute to Sam Cooke failed to impress last night, was told she'd be joining DeGraw.
In a surprise announcement, the producers handed host Brooke Burke-Charvet an envelope - announcing Sherri Shepherd was safe.
Jack Wagner, Donald Driver, and Melissa Gilbert made up the following group - with Wagner joining Knight and DeGraw in the group in jeopardy.
The first couple safe out of the competitors in jeopardy was songstress Knight, leaving DeGraw and Wagner in the bottom two. DeGraw, who was in the bottom two last week, said being in that position was a "repeat offender he didn't want to have to face again." Ultimately, he might have to - as he was announced to be safe. Wagner was announced to be the second to depart the DANCING competition.
"It was a great time, it was fun to test myself," Wagner said before his departure, wishing the rest of the contestants good luck with the rest of the season.
