Watts' Spoken Word Preserves: The Jam, an innovative, soul revealing "play on words" jam session, will take place on Monday, October 10th at the Helen Mills Spotlight Theatre, 139 West 26th Street (between 6th and 7th avenue), performance begins at 8pm. Derrick Baskin (The Tank, NYC; Clarke Studio at Lincoln Center), Watts' jam session is getting its legs for the first time on October 10th. It's full of everything we love: poetry, song, music, and dance, orbiting around the idea of spoken word. WattsWords Productions owner and the show's creator
Daniel J. Watts is thrilled to give this platform to the artists in this community. "As an artist it is my duty to create and inspire." From one of his featured poems: "We (artists) are mother birds with child-like faith speaking off-spring words that fly away to be nurtured into new ideas. We must name them ‘Inspiration' and wait for their return."
