CYNTHIA-REEVES is pleased to present a series of ancillary exhibitons and projects for the Fall 2010 under the auspicies of the subsidiary, CYNTHIA-REEVES PROJECTS.
OFF-SITE EXHIBITIONS
CYNTHIA-REEVES PROJECTS launches its Fall lineup with Shuli Sade's retrospective exhibition, SHIFTING PERCEPTION: MEDITATION ON TIME AND VELOCITY at Gensler's headquarters in Washington, DC. This comprehensive installation includes wall based installations that investigate our relationship to architecture and urban environments through a fugitive sense of time. Sade choreographs her beautiful photography and video stills into lyrical sequences that communicate a dynamic sense of movement and interaction with iconic examples of our architectural surroundings.
Daniel Kohn's second DATA SETS exhibition travels from the Pfizer headquarters in New York City to their research laboratory in La Jolla, California, in October 2010, where the artist will take part in a panel discussion on the intersection of Art and Science -- Please see the review of the Broad show in the current issue of Art New England.
FABRICATIONS just closed its three-month long run at the Newport Mill in Newport, New Hampshire. The exhibition received stunning reviews in print and online media, and discussions are underway that the show may travel. A third season for a CYNTHIA-REEVES PROJECTS exhibition at the Newport Mill is in store for 2011.
ARTIST ACHIEVEMENTS
CYNTHIA-REEVES also celebrates the recent achievements of artists Beth Galston and Sybille Pasche, whose environmental sculptural works were each awarded public commissions in Boston and Meilen, Zurich respectively.
A public park dedication of Galston's sculptural commission, THE SERPENTINE FENCE, took place on September 20. Pasche's marble sculpture proposal achieved the highest honor in a countrywide competition in Switzerland for large-scale public art, a piece that will be completed next year for installation in Zurich. This award follows a sculpture exhibition at the Pier Arts Centre in Stromness, Orkney.
CYNTHIA-REEVES continues to look for street-level gallery space in Chelsea, New York.
