On Saturday, May 19, 2012, The Broadway Comedy Club in NYC will host the "Makin' Whoopie Comedy Show – Sex & the City Style." It is the first time the event travels to NYC featuring six funny ladies, burlesque dancers, and a singer doing a special rendition of the song Makin' Whoopee. There have been several other Makin' Whoopie Comedy Shows that sold out in DC and Easton, MD. The event will benefit Women In Need (WIN), a NY-based non-profit that provides shelter to homeless women and their children as well as the tools to lead independent lives.

Cyndy Bragg, a Kensington Maryland resident is the brains behind the show. "The idea was born out of my desire to help women beam their own light in the world. Times are not always easy, but the women on our stage are empowered with their humorous take on life. These women are not victims; they have swagger," says Bragg, a former Showtime Producer and five-year resident of the area who bakes whoopie pies by day and does stand-up at night. Cyndy's company, Whoopie Queen, LLC has a mission to sprinkle fairy dust of the sweet life by baking the best whoopie pies on the planet and performing merriment from the mic.

The six comedians performing have great stories about living life with fun and frolic, according to event organizer Cyndy Bragg. MTV's Sassi Keegan is featured as well as Burlesque performances by Kitty Cavalier and the Pink Chardonnays.

"There have many times in my life when I could have gone chosen to be sad – from not having money to attend college, to having a sexless "practice" marriage, breaking my legs and being disabled for 6 months, and losing a very close friend," said Bragg. "We have the choice about how we look at our lives. I chose joy, and these other women in the show have too. It is my utmost pleasure to create a traveling show that gives empowered woman a platform to make their own whoopie in the world."

"WIN is thrilled to partner with Cyndy Bragg's "Makin' Whoopie Comedy Show" for its first-ever NYC event", said WIN President and CEO Bonnie Stone. "Cyndy's enthusiasm and spirit is what WIN is all about-empowering homeless women and their families to find joy, hope and confidence despite their situation as they learn to become independent."

Doors Open at 6pm for the Show 7-8:30pm. The All Gal Line-up hosted by Whoopie Queen Cyndy Bragg will feature Sassi Keegan, MTV, Burlesque performances by Kitty Cavalier and the Pink Chardonnays.
