Cutrell, Gurland, Etc. to Perform at New Cabaret D-Lounge

The Daryl Roth Theatre has announced August plans for its 75 seat cabaret theatre, The D-Lounge. A new cabaret space, the D-Lounge is located at 101 East 15th St., right off of Union Square East.

This August, a myriad of New York's finest cabaret performers, as well as some of its newest additions, will take to the stage.

On Fridays, August 4, 11, 18, 25 at, 10:30pm, Sweet Paprika will perform.  "Recently voted 'Top Ten Stand-out Stand Ups to Watch Out For' by Back Stage, these six comedians will make you laugh until you can't anymore!," state press notes.  Admission is $5 plus two drinks.

On Tuesday, August 15 at 7pm, Coffee House: The Standards will have its first performance.  "A new series at the D-Lounge, Coffee House will present a variety of evenings with different themes, featuring casts of eclectic artists. "The Standards" features a collection of music from the Great American Songbook – including Gershwin, Porter, Kern, Berlin, Rogers and Hammerstein, etc. A cast of some of the cabaret world's leading voices are featured, including Lisa Asher, Bobby Belfry, Nick Cearley, Mychelle Colleary, Brandon Cutrell, Baby Jane Dexter, David Gurland, Karen Kohler, Karen Mack, Julie Reyburn and Marcus Simeone."  Admission is $10 plus two drinks.

A second new series--Coffee House: Plays--will be launched on Thursday, August 17th at 7pm. "'Plays' will feature a collection of readings of the first ten pages of five different, new plays."  Admission is $7 plus two drinks.

The Kissing Booth will perform on Saturday, August 19th at 9:30pm.  "The Kissing Booth, a monthly variety show hosted by comedy duo Brandy & Sara, features some of New York's funniest performers. Expect stand up, sketches, live music and videos - and a spectacular karaoke finale from your hosts. Stay after the show for a dance party and take advantage of drink specials all night. On Thursday, August 24th at 8pm, The Kissing Booth will present "Take This Job and Shove It!"  Admission is $5 plus 2 drinks.

A third new series--Coffee House: The Originals--will be unveiled on Tuesday, August 29th at 7pm.  "'The Originals' features new music from some of New York's most exciting new composers. Included in the cast: Bobby Belfry, Nick Cearley, Mychelle Colleary, Brandon Cutrell, Baby Jane Dexter, Mark Kessler, Karen Mack, Kate Pazakis, Julie Reyburn & Marcus Simeone."  Admission is $10 plus 2 drinks.

Thursday, August 31st at 7pm will mark the premiere of the fourth new series, Coffee House: Prose.  "'Prose' will feature readings from new authors, including poetry, short stories and other forms of fiction."  Admission is $7 plus 2 drinks.
