RPN Globe LLC and The Culture Project will present the first U.S. production of the French play Big Shoot by Ivory Coast-born playwright Koffi Kwahulé, with English translation by Chantal Bilodeau. Performances will begin at The Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street) on Thursday evening, June 8 at 8PM and continue through Saturday evening, July 15. Opening night is Thursday evening, June 22 at 8PM.

Directed by Gabriella Maione (Quartet at Brooklyn Academy of Music), the two-character play will feature Tom Brangle and Patrick Halliday.

"Written in 1999 after Kwahulé's return from a visit to Rwanda, Big Shoot is a politically energizing play dealing with themes of torture, terrorism and power. It is a confrontation between two men -- an interrogator and his suspect -- and the complex relationship they build. The play comes to life as the interplay between the two men takes place. It is a game of power, humiliation and the meaningful issues aroused about our contemporary world," state press notes.
