On Sunday November 12, cult-hit Brooklyn rockers Sky-Pony will gallop onto stage at NYC's Mercury Lounge.
Sky-Pony is led by the husband-and-wife team of Obie winning writer Kyle Jarrow -- who is the creator of the new CW television series Valor as well as the bookwriter of the upcoming Broadway musical SpongeBob SquarePants -- and Tony nominated actress/singer Lauren Worsham (Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder). Sky-Pony's theatrical roots shine through in its lush, cheeky sound. The band has been called "indie pop aces" by The New York Times and "a beautiful mash-up of music, choreography, costumes, projections and drama" by The Village Voice. They've built a cult following for their high-energy live shows that blur the line between concert, theater and carnival.
On Sunday November 12, they'll appear live at Mercury Lounge (217 E Houston Street, NYC) along with the rollicking Weezer tribute band Surf Wax America, which will serve up a blistering blast from the early-2000s past with hits from Pinkerton, the Blue Album, the Green Album and more!
Doors open at 8pm. Sky-Pony hits the stage at 8:30 and Surf Wax America plays at 9:30. Tickets are just $10 and go on sale October 6th at http://www.mercuryloungenyc.com/event/1572593-surf-wax-america-sky-pony-new-york/
