Based on a true story of an actual 1972 New York bank robbery gone awry, Dog Day Afternoon captures the bizarre 12 hours of the event in dramatic and riveting fashion. When a man and his crew storm a bank in an attempt to steal the money needed to pay for his lover's operation his incompetence draws the attention of the authorities, then the media and then the public, creating a media circus that followed the robbers and their 8 hostages until his eventual capture. This pressure-cooker of a play brings that infamous day back to vivid life showing how the events changed the lives of many.

The play is being directed by Barefoot Theatre Company Artistic Director Frank Solorzano with costume design by Victoria Malvagno, Sound by Tasha Guevara, Set by Adam Rodriguez, and Lights by John Beverly.

The cast includes: Jeremy Brena, Susan Ferrara, John Gazzale, Victoria Malvagno, Dolores McDougal, Roderick Nash, Amanda Plant, Lorraine Rodriquez, Rafi Silver, Frank Solorzano, Anika Solveig, Joli Tribuzio, Christopher Whalen.

Barefoot Theatre Company recently continued their collaboration with acclaimed playwright, Israel Horovitz, in the development and production of nine new short plays which ran at Theatre Row Studios featuring company members and guest star Lynn Cohen (Spielberg's Munich and Sex and the City). The nine new plays are set for publication later this spring.
